Hi,
I have currently built an add-in including ribbon and also CustomTaskPanes using ExcelDNA. Everything works without any problems.

However, I now have the case (for testing various environments) of active group policies. Here is activated:
- ‘Block all unmanaged add-ins’
- ‘List of managed add-ins’

I have added my add-in to the list of managed add-ins and set the corresponding path as a trusted location.

The add-in including ribbon works without problems & the add-in is activated correctly. However, as soon as I activate my CustomTaskPane, it cannot be activated (not even manually). An additional entry with the name of the add-in + ‘(Custom Task Pane Helper)’ also appears in the deactivated add-ins.
I have also tried to add an entry in the list of managed add-ins with the addition (Custom Task Pane Helper) to the add-in name, but unfortunately it still does not work.

Is there any solution for this, so that I can also allow Custom Task Panes with group policies?

Thank you!

Hi,

In my efforts to find the cause, I have now discovered that a dynamically generated ProgID is created in the case of CUstomTaskPanes. Couldn't we build some way to pass a predefined name if needed or always link the ProgID of the addin with the addition ‘(Custom Task Pane Helper)’ so that there is always a fixed name here?
This would also make it possible to use them in the GPos.
