School Safety Update

Late last night the district was informed by law enforcement that an
unknown adult approached one of our high school students in the
village of Wappingers Falls and made a statement about the safety of
schools in general in today's world that worried this student. No
specific threats were made about any Wappingers' schools or Dutchess
County schools!
Although the police give little credibility to the statement made by
the unknown adult, we asked staff to remain on alert and are
maintaining a single point of entry into the school buildings as a
precaution.
We recognize the need to remain attentive to all comments and
situations of questionable nature in our ever changing world. We will
continue to be mindful of the health, safety and welfare of our
students and will respond appropriately and quickly to anything that
could interfere with their well-being.
