Who would be the best director to assign to the project?
My personal vote would be for Quentin Tarantino. His style perfectly
suits the mood of EVA. He will be able to remain true to the spirit of
non-commercial Japanese film and still make it accessible to
westerners. Every time I see the "Episode 01 - Angel Attack" title on
screen that cuts to Sachiel laying waste to Tokyo-3, I think of
Tarantino. The music and everything just fits him. IMHO anyway. What
do ya'll think?
ehh...i havn't heard that he won't be doing it. Do you remember where
you saw that? I think it would be a pity if he didn't he captured
everything about LOTR amazingly well...casting, effects, design... and
best of all, he kept to the story almost perfectly.
And turner theres absolutly no need to turn this into a flame spree...
Certainly you have second unit directors etc, but many hands spoil the
broth. You need one person, two at most, to drive such a project. And
he/she/they should be accountable to the producers that determine what
the movie should and should not be about..
What about Ang Lee?
