Predictions...

So anyone know when this is slated for release? For some reason the
year 2006 is stuck in my head, but maybe I'm wrong.
They can take all the time they need for all I care, so long as they
don't botch the delivery and ruin Eva for the public.

I recall that they have estimated that filming won't start until 2006
at least. Personally, I'm expecting a 2008 or 2009 release (or maybe
even 2010 if it takes a bit more time).

Officially, it's slated for release between 2006 and 2010. For it to
be released in 2006, the film should already be in mid-production.
Therefore, unless it's in prodution already (and we don't know about
it), it won't be released until 2008 or later.

Only good thing about a very late release is that Cinema and technology will
develope itself and the results will be much better. I dont mind a late
release if it will make a much better movie.

In the meanwhile we can watch the Anime :D

complete lack of news, I'm starting to lose hope! Perhaps we should

even so, i'd still like to see it. if it IS a rip-off, it is probably the
nearest we'd ever have to a second series of Eva, if you see what i mean.
the way i see it, if rah is an eva clone, it means i'd be more likely to
enjoy it.

I would question that. Rah is a rip off of EVA and it doesn't sweeten
the deal. The first 3 -4 episodes of RAH are very entertaining and set
a great feeling for the series, but after the first few episodes it
turns to crap. Too much like EVA with not enough "ummfff" to it to
live off itself.

I disagree with people saying that Rah ripped Eva. Both series are unique in
there own ways, and that's what makes them both good, both Eva is better
than Rah. Its artful that Rah was very similar to Eva to begin with, but
then ended so totally different. You say its kind of like the happy version
of Eva, though they are both very different.

I do think Eva LAM will come out, but probably closer to 2010 than any time
soon. Remember that a lot of work has to go into it, so it is a successful
extension of the Eva franchise, and so they can stay away from the children
playing the characters (Shinji, Rei, Auska) growing too fast, like with
Harry Potter. They have to have the story, the scrip of whatever else they
need prepared so they can confidently film the sequels of the original movie
back-to-back to at least as soon as possible.

Once again Rah is a rip off. Sorry guys, as much as it ends
differently the plot points, and climax, and especialy the
personalities of the characters are very similar to EVA. Watch it
again and you'll be able to tell which Rah characters are exactly like
Eva characters.

Oh and to makes this discussion a little bit more spiecy look up a new
anime series called Fafner in the Azure. It is like a rip off of Rah
and Eva all in the same bowl. :)

As far as i can see, the mecha genre of anime is crowded to start with and
there are bound to be similarities between different shows. from what i've
seen of rah (the trailers), the mecha designs are very organic and
eva-esque, but from what i've read of the plot the makers have tried to make
it different. perhaps they've tried too hard, but as i said, its a genre
that has been thoroughly explored over the years.

as for evaLAM, i agree with whoever said that the children will grow up
really fast so they will probably film it in a very short timespan. how the
ageing issue will affect the timing of sequel(s) is another matter, however.
my guess is that they are presently in the mid to final stages of choosing a
director, and after that one piece of news (which may come soon, it may not)
there may not be much forthcoming for quite some time while they are gearing
up for casting and filming. after that the press releases will be a lot more
frequent. which leaves me with the old question: where are the leaks?

So what if they are alike or copy/rip-off. Its Anime so its fun watching!
Who cares if it musnt be alike eva or anything. I think its fun watching
Another Anime wether its a copy of Eva, since it can never be like Eva
because It isnt the same director (Hideaki Anno) but another persons
approach into the same genre, and thats ok.

I own Rah and like I said I liked the starting of it. IN MY OPINION I
think it copies EVA, I do not want to bash the Rah series, it was
visually appealing, and I liked some of the later episodes, all I
wanted to point out is that they are very similar, to a point where
the characters are predictable in comparison to EVA characters.

I think we should drop this whole Eva/Rah thing. :)

Please do not e-mail Tiffany Grant regarding the Live Action movie. If
you want to ask about the noises Matt makes in bed, help yourself, but
inquiries about the film will be ignored. (It may seem unfair if you
had a friend who got a response, but those responses were meant to be
shared with the community. Personally, I feel cheated in the way that I
feel the questions were squandered, ala Homer Simpson reptition, but
hey...)

I would hope for a 2010 release, however that is merely a hope and I
would not hasten to call it my prediction.

It is a stated fact that those are slug names (purely a device to refer
to the pictures, rather than some serial number). Pure and simple.
End of story.
The models used do not imply that any particular actor/actress will be
casted for a certain role.

It's concept art; no more, no less.

slug names i think it is quite naive of us to simply assume that they
will not change anything. if they change the names then can only deal
