Job Description: DevOps – Makefiles - Massachusetts
· We are looking for an engineer who is comfortable evaluating architectures for CI/CD, software tools, and evaluate the latest technologies for automation of software delivery. The ideal candidate is to have a background in software development, but has over time migrated to DevOps area. The candidate should have extensive experience in build & release engineering and setting up and automating Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes for application components. Candidate has 5+ years of demonstrated leadership with multiple DevOps patterns and approaches for continuous integration / continuous delivery, and 5+ years in IT field with the following skills:
· Provide Leadership in proposing and advocating build/release environment, tools and methods Ownership of implementation and delivery of proposed build environment
· Expert knowledge of Makefiles, familiarity with RPM packages and spec files Expertise in Linux, bash scripts, and building C and C++ codebases
· Expertise in scripting and automation tools – bash, python, etc.
· Expertise constructing complex build hierarchies, handling complex dependency management Outstanding skills in debugging and trouble-shooting build problems Expertise with CI/CD workflows and tools
· Expertise with container images, Docker and repositories such as Artifactory and Quay Knowledge of Git based repositories, and preferably experience with Gitlab
· Experience making Test Driven infrastructure work in complex environments Must work collaboratively and interact well with product development engineers
Desirable: experience working with Kubernetes, deploying apps to Kubernetes clusters
Primary Skill: C Programming Language
