Inspite of the storms of life in our motherland, I still hope and trust there is a bright future for the extremely patient people of Ethiopia.
Below is an opportunity in France at a world class University of Lyon.
May the God of our fathers bring peace to the troubled hearts and minds in Ethiopia.

A 3-year funded PhD position on “Sustainable urban logistics: issues and impacts of economic, organizational and environmental optimization” is available at LAET (Transport, Urban Planning and Economics Lab), University of Lyon.
Keywords: urban logistics, economic assessment, inter-organisation relationships, environmental impacts, flexible hour deliveries, innovations, supply chain, surveys
Abstract:
Supplying the city with goods transport vehicles is an important cause of environmental nuisance caused by transport in agglomeration. The subject of this doctoral thesis aims at exploring the conditions and potentialities of solutions to reduce these impacts on the quality of life in the city. Various avenues can be explored: some of them are already tested, like flexible hour deliveries, cargo-tram, electric vehicles or more generally management of the supply chain upstream (till the delivery point) or downstream (till the final customer). The doctoral student will have to take over this general vision by identifying relevant avenues, elaborating a methodology for an economic, organizational and environmental assessment, in order to provide elements for decision making by public governments and private economic players. Various statistical sources will be made available to the doctoral student (French surveys on urban goods movements, results from the Freturb model, e-commerce survey). The empirical field of research will focus on cities of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.
Reference disciplines are economics and management but candidates from other disciplines with a master of science may apply. This is a full-time research position and French is not mandatory (the thesis can be written and defended in English). Please contact the supervisors Charles Raux (charle...@laet.ish-lyon.cnrs.fr) and Odile Chanut (odile....@univ-st-etienne.fr) with application letter, CV, academic transcripts (master degree) and master thesis.
