EEO meeting was held on Oct 26 2019 began at 2:30pm EDT.
Present Misrak, Alazar, Abinet, Abiyu , Rahel, Maaza
Recap of last meeting on Oct 12 2019
By Alazar Misrak, Abinet.
Misrak indicated that all active members have submitted their resume.

Misrak shared how she and Prof Girma presented to AACRA and ERA and at an educational institution. It was related that Prof. Girma provided summary of activities including signing of the MOU with ERA.

Then conversation focused on what would be our next step .
A suggestion was made by Misrak to have a regular meeting schedule such as second Saturday of the month.  It was not carried further.
Misrak described her most recent trip to Ethiopia and activities she carried out including presentations and urged our next step to be a seminar of some sort.

Alazar raised an issue on how best to address challenges including some recommendations that would alleviate transport challenges (safety and mobility) in the urban areas and specially Addis Ababa and the high-speed road facilities.  Can we get data to perform analysis on context specific areas and issues to address real problems?
Discussion followed on what has been and is being done.  Misrak shared her recent trip and experience on transportation safety areas using technology.
Abiyu related the origins of ITS in Ethiopia and how to properly advance and plan to solve current and future ITS implementation.  He cautioned that Technology in itself is not an end but a means and solving transport problems needs a multifaceted approach.
Discussion moved on what would be our best course of action to make a difference. How do we move forward?
It was decided that we send an accompanying letter with the Curiculum Vitae that details our desire to ask for  specific project based requests from partner agencies such as ERA and AACRA.   We need more focused activities to deliver relevant solutions to transport problems in the country.

To work on drafting a request letter that would accompany the CV's , Alazar and Maaza were selected. All members are asked to send ideas to Alazar and Maaza on or before wednesday the 30th of Oct.
Next meeting is scheduled for Saturday Nov. 2 at 1pm EDT. Meeting adjurned at 4pm EDT.
