I've decided to move this EsiObjects discussion group to LinkedIn
(
http://www.linkedin.com/home). If you don't belong to LinkedIn, from
a professional perspective, I would recommend it. The basic service
is free.
Why move? EsiObjects currently uses Google Groups for discussions,
assemebla for project management and two web sites (http://
www.EsiObjects.org and
http://www.OutOfTheSlipstream.com). These
resources are disjoint and require building a user base. Information
needs to be pushed out which is resource intensive. However, creating
an LinkedIn 'Out of the Slipstream'/'EsiObjects Community' group/
subgroup places it within a large community of possible users and
contributors. It accomplishes one of my EsiObjects promotional goals.
One LinkedIn service is Groups and Subgroups. I created a Group called
'Out of the Slipstream' that corresponds to
http://www.OutoftheSlipstream.com,
this virtual organization that contains the EsiObjects project among
other M projects. Within the LinkedIn group, I created a subgroup
called 'EsiObjects Community'. This subgroup supports discussion
threads among other things.
If you want to continue your involvement with EsiObjects and you do
not have an account, please go to
http://www.linkedin.com/home and
sign up.
Once you have an account, you should see a Groups menu item in the
upper left box. Go there and join the 'Out of the Slipstream' and
'EsiObjects Community' group and subgroup.
Thanks,
Terry
