No, you need the Windows Client unfortunately. There is a primitive browser but it was only finished to the point of bootstrapping the system so the GUI could be used.

What MUMPS system are you using?

I am using GTM on your Ubuntu VM your material is great on link list, that info was hard to find in the Mumps books that I got

EsiObjects has not been worked on for some time. It got caught up in a number of circumstances where the primary developers could no longer work on it. I'm currently getting it to work under the new TCP/IP server (mSVR). However, even then it will require the Windows client.

I'm curious, where did you get the VM?

so once I get esiobjects up and working its safe to use in development, as ANSI MUMPS gtm is not changing, and your routine code should work with no problems.... I take its solid to develop on

We developed lots of packages with EO before things went south in the MUMPS world. That seems to have quieted down. I'm trying to resurrect it since it has an incredible number of OO features. It extends MUMPS to the OO really nicely.

I don't currently run GT.M but I could with no problem. If you want to continue with it, I will support you the best I can. It's not a trivial system. Meanwhile I'm going to continue with it on MUMPSV1.

Let me know what you want to do. Would be great to work with you.

Great to hear that I am new to MUMPS , and by way of Erlang and Va Vista, but I do not work in the medical world.  I have worked with EWD also,
It appears OO under MUMPs is more powerful, I have no problem with either, I use GTM because of EWD, and I now there is char length issue with MUMPSV1 following the ANSI standard so does not support EWD.  I just put in a windows VM and will be getting it setup to work with your ubuntu CBI, VM ...and thank you for allowing me to use your time to ask question thank you very much !!!

Arthur, given that you'll need Windows to run the EsiObjects client on, you might be interested in the recent port of GT.M to Cygwin, allowing it to run natively on Windows rather than requiring a VM.

I have been using it successfully for the past couple of weeks, though I'm not currently doing anything with EsiObjects.

Thanks John I  saw that, though I have a mac and use virtualbox, I have been able to get linux and windows working together with no performance issues at this time.  I am even using Terry's training vm with Windows 10.
but again thanks for the information.

In my efforts to get EO working on MUMPSV1, I installed Wine on my Ubuntu development box and successfully installed the EsiObjects client on it. I haven't tested it yet. If it does work, that eliminates the problem of having a Window system to run it on - for Linux systems anyway.
