The new EsiObjects IDE Installer for Windows has been submitted to the
SVN at:
http://esiobjects.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/esiobjects/EsiObjects/Kits/Clients/Windows/
It is basic in that it does an install each time you run it based on
the type of install selected. There is no elaborate logic to determine
whether it is a modify or fresh install. It just overwrites anything
that is there each time. It's good enough given the fact that a
completely new protable IDE (presumably Java) is the next BIG
priority.
There are 3 types of install. Typical, All or Custom install.
'Typical' installs the base files, all help and tutorial files. 'All'
installs all base and optional files. 'Custom' installs all base plus
M Tools, IDL Tools, Management or Java Proxy/Gateway if checked.
The uninstall.exe is filed in the installation directory and can be
run separately.
Most of my time was spent wading through piles of obsolete
documentation and tutorials for the NSIS Installer. So that anyone who
may pick this up for further development (like me, given my retention
powers), I documented the approach and stored it as
Development_Instructions.odt in the SVN.
The installer has been tested on Windows XP and Vista. I would
appreciate it if you would test it and the uninstaller.
