22nd Annual Family Camp Fun & Friendship

its 22nd Annual Camp Family Fun & Friendship on September 15-17, 2006,
in Malibu/Calabasas, California. This Camp is for children with
epilepsy between the ages of 5 and 19 and their parents and siblings.
Participants will find this year's Hawaiian theme woven throughout
the fun-filled weekend - Carnival, Family Luau, Hike, Petting Zoo,
Arts and Crafts, Swimming, Campfire Talent Show, Teen Scene, and Teen
Fear Factor. Parents won't want to miss the important sessions on
epilepsy as well as the times for parent-to-parent and teen-to-teen
sharing. The Arts of the Elysium will also participate in activities
with the children this year!
This year we are proud to announce that Drs. Raman Sankar, Gary
Mathern, Joyce Wu and Rochelle Caplan from UCLA and Dr. Diane Stein
from Kaiser will be speaking at the parent sessions. There will also be
a session on Yoga by Eli Novaes. A parent session is also offered in
Spanish with presentations by Drs. Jesus Machado-Salas, Ernestina
Saxton and Rosabel Young.
Because of the terrific line-up of speakers we are opening up the
Parent Sessions so that parents of children with epilepsy who are not
attending Family Camp can still attend the seminars.
For obvious space and safety reasons and to allow time for
group/counselor assignments, we REQUIRE REGISTRATION IN ADVANCE for all
individuals coming to Family Camp and Camp Mt. Crags at any time that
weekend. In addition, please note that only children, between 5 and 19
years, who are registered for the "Entire Camp" or for "Saturday
Only Camp" will be assigned to a group with counselors. We are unable
to care for children less than 5 years of age or children whose parents
are just attending the Parent Sessions.
Options & Fee:
Entire Family Camp (Friday-Sunday, with all camp activities)
"$140 for family of 2 -- "$160 for family of 3 -- "$180 for
family of 4+
Saturday Only (only activities on Saturday; no overnight stay)
"$100 for family of 2 -- "$120 for family of 3 -- "$140 for
family of 4+
Saturday Parent Sessions & Lunch (no other activities)
"$25 per parent -- "$50 per couple
Partial scholarships are available upon request because we do not want
anyone to miss out on this terrific opportunity because of the fee. We
will work with you to get support from your Regional Center or the
Foundation will provide a scholarship. -- Please call to request a
