All:
The NOFD has a horse drawn antique steamer-pumper that will be leading the Rex parade this year. THEY WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN ENDYMION. They're interested in Scouts participating in this parade. They will use about 6-8 Scouts at a time and rotate them. The balance can either ride in a NOFD vehicle and throw beads or just take a break. For their efforts, they will get a NOFD t-shirt and hat, food and drinks.
Below is detailed information regarding the parade. Please respond back with the following information:
1. No. Attending
2. Troop/Crew #
3. Name of Adult in Charge
4. Phone number for Adult
Details are as follows:
The NOFD wants to assure all adult leaders and parents that their children will be in good, responsible care and encourages them to participate with the youth. I am an Associate Advisor for Venture Crew 48 and will be present for the parade. Additionally, I have a female adult advisor attending as well.
Class A uniform should be worn for the parade.
For REX:
- Parking will be provided at the NOFD Training Facility at 701 Rosedale just off Canal Blvd two blocks from City Park Ave (easy to find at the base of 300ft antenna tower).
- A shuttle bus will take the Scouts to the start.
- The NOFD will have plenty of food and soft drinks for all.
- The fire pumper leads off the parade, so we will finish first. We should get to the foot of Canal St in about 4 hours. The parade starts at 10:00 am.
- Plan to arrive at the parking area on Rosedale by no later than 8:30 am.
- After the parade, the NOFD will bus everyone back to the cars at Rosedale.
Sincerely,
J. Treacy Stone, P.E.
