Hello,

How can we convert HL7 messages in Fixed Record Length (FRL) messages
and viceversa?
Is there any custom schema that we can create and from there do our
DTL?

I searched for all the discussions related to the FRL subject but I
could not find an answer.

It depends on the FRL format. Is it just a single record structure, or is it a more complex multi-line structure?

If it is a simple record structure, take a look at the Record Mapper introduced in 2012.1. It allows you to define fixed and delimited record structures.

It is normally used to read or write files with many fixed width or delimited records, such as a *.csv file

Thanks Dave for replying to my message

The FRL has a simple record structure. I just did a search and I found
the documentation but when I went in to my portal I did not see the
option Record Mapper, maybe I don't have the last version of Ensmeble
installed.

I am going to check in Studio and see if the
EnsLib.RecordMap.Generator is available. If you have any other
suggestion it will be appreciated.

Thanks

Glenda

The record mapper is only available with 2012.1. Navigate to Ensemble-->Build-->Record Map as in the screen shot.

If that description of the navigation doesn't make sense, you are probably on an earlier version of Ensemble

OK, That GUI is not familiar, so I don't have the latest version.  if there is another way to create an FRL schema?

Thanks
