hello,
I would play with my ME some divx shared from my mini-itx (ever on line) with windows XP,
from this PC I read divx from a XBOX with XBMC, a nettop with WIN XP and the ME with the lastest firmware.

Increasing the network buffer in the windows media player (NETTOP) and on the configuration of the XBMC,
I resolved the problem of a intermittent visualization of the movies.

The question is : is there a way to increase the network buffer on the ME ?

I don't' want copy everything on the ME before playing, also because the ME has a NTFS partition (for the DVD ISO) that is read only by definition (I understand that is  possible write on the NTFS partition only by USB).

Thanks in advance

In Short No.
The buffer is limited by RAM and the ME1 has very little RAM to speak of.

The problem you are probably experiancing is probably to do with
network load you should probably upgrade your network to solve the
issue.
How is your network setup?

Danny

I have a wifi router (ROUTER B) connected by 100 Mbit LAN to the internet provider not wifi router (ROUTER A).

The PC is connected with LAN cable to the ROUTER A and a WIFI connection to the ROUTER B (internal addressing).

The XBOX and the ME are connected with direct LAN connection to the ROUTER B.
The NETTOP has a wifi connection to the ROUTER B.

I can try to connect the PC by LAN cable to the ROUTER B, so I can test if without wifi the situation improves.
In this case I can try to invert the PC connections : internet wifi and internal LAN.
Or buy a mini-itx motherboard with 2 LAN...

Thanks

Basically the issue will probably be caused by the wifi.
Wifi is fine for the internet but passing large amounts of data (eg
streaming) from one node to another with cause a huge slow down.

Do try to connect all through CAT5 (100 mbit) and see if the situation
ius better.

I've tried with LAN instead wifi : better performance, the intermittent stream continues, but with less frequency.

After that, I've tried to upgrade the firmware router and I've set the router to give priority to the video stream (there is a specific option in the asus router) : a bit better, but not sufficient.

All the test was made with no internet access programs running (I stopped emule, panda cloud, etc.).

I'm not satisfied, any other idea ?
Some configuration in the ME samba client ? I'll search some infos with google....
Sell the ME and buy a good, old, XBOX ? :-)

Thanks again
