Hi,

I've been using my ME1 for sometime but I've never been able to get a
signal above 576p to work. The box is connected to my TV via the
component cables but as soon as I select 1080i>on in the system
settings the TV will not display a picture (just a blue or green
screen).

I believe my TV accepts 1080i/25 signal so the issue may be due to the
fps rate. Does anyone know what frame or field rate the ME1 outputs
at with 1080i?

BTW, my TV is a SP42Q2.

Cheers,
Dal

Dal, putting SP42Q2 into google gives the following link (the very
first one)
http://www.avforums.com/forums/rear-projection-televisions/303335-mis-sold-samsung-sp42q2-hdtv-ready.html

"I purchased a Samsung SP42Q2 RPTV from Comet in March 05. The set is
marked as being HDTV Ready 1080i. At the time I asked if this set was
HD ready and was told it was.
Since getting my XBOX 360 I realised this is not the case as it wont
work at anything other than 480p. I contacted Samsung who tell me it
is not HD ready at all."

Hi Tony,

I too have looked at this forum and it would appear that there are
some mixed messages regarding this TV. Samsung have assured me that
this set accepts 1080i signal. "HD Ready" is just phrase relating to
a set of standards i.e. must have HDMI input etc etc, Samsung told me
that despite it not being strictly HD Ready as per standard
guidelines, the TV does accept 1080i signals through the component
cable. The issues appear to be related to the frame rate i.e. it
would appear that the Xbox outputs at 1080i/30 (the US standard), so I
was interested in what the ME1 outputs at as the tech specs don't
mention this.

Ultimitely I'm going to try to get a refund on my TV for a proper HD
TV.

Cheers,
Dal
