Hi everyone,

Hope it's appropriate to send this on! Rumor has it that Powells almost didn't book this author, who is one of Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton's acquaintances, because he writes about Christianity. It would be great to have a crowd at this reading. ;) From my parish bulletin: "Jim Douglass and his wife, Shelley, are known throughout the Pacific Northwest for cofounding the Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action....his fifth book incorporates original research into the investigation of Kennedy's death and looks at factions within our government that favored war as the answer to international conflict. President Kennedy, Douglass argues, was undergoing a conversion toward peace which led to his successful resolution of the Cuban Misslie Crisis, but also to his death."
