It has been too long since we got some groups together for some good,
face-to-face, friendly conversations. I think it is time we get some
things on the calendar.
For those who may have to travel or have kids, I would like to suggest
a Friday night or Saturday afternoon sometime in May. Perhaps the
11/12th or 18/19th? Maybe we could spend some time discussing the new
book, An Emergent Manifesto of Hope, just to get the ball rollling? I
am sure some of you others may have ideas and times that might work
for you as well?
Anyone have a spot in Denver that they have access to? Particular
dates and times? If no-one has anything by the middle of next week I
will line something up here in Parker and get the info out as early as
possible.
Also wanted to remind everyone that there are a couple of regular
groups getting together out there. Nadia Bolz-Weber hosts a Theology
Pub at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 Califonia, the last Thursday of each
month 6pm! I have not been to one but I hear that these groups are
great! Get more details and info at www.sarcasticlutheran.typepad.com
Jarrod and a few others also do a theology pub but, even though I have
asked three times, I cannot remember the time/place. Jarrod, want to
share the info in a reply?
There are also spontaneous things from environmental events, book
release events, and even cigars, drinks, coffees, movies, etc going on
but no one really knows how to get the word out to everyone so I would
suggest using some sites out there that are available to announce
things like this.
There is of course the google group:
http://groups.google.com/group/Emergent-Colorado-Cohort
and
http://www.inter-sect.org/ (with a cool calendar that you can submit
things too)
and
http://www.knowtown.com (which anyone can register on and then add
events, announcements, etc.)
Let us get better at meeting together more often all across the metro
area. Feel free to forward this to those you think would be interested
and get some good momentum heading into summer. BBQ season is near and
that means, good weather, good food, good company, good conversations,
etc.
Let we know if you have any ideas, questions, suggestions...
Carry the Name well

Special thanks to Jake Ulrich for making arrangements for this meeting

If you would like to RSVP to let us know you are coming so we can get
a rough estimate of who is coming that would be great. You can do
that by sending a quick email to me (or respond to this google group
message). If you have any questions or need additional information
please let Jake or myself know.
I don't know about everyone else, but I am looking forward to this.
