Professor Stephen Schneider is one of world's pioneers in climate change research. He is Co-Director of the Center for Environmental Sciences and Policy at Stanford University. His career has been devoted to the study of the Earth's climate. He was a member of the scientific staff at the National Center for Atmospheric Research from 1973 to 1996, where he founded the Climate Project. In 1992, he was honored with a MacArthur Fellowship (often referred to as the MacArthur "Genius Award") for his ability to integrate and interpret the results of global climate research. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Encyclopedia of Climate and Weather and author of over 200 scientific papers, proceedings, edited books, and book chapters.
