Subject: Re: My Mom - has passed from this Earth

To all my cousins, friends and other important people in my life:

Sadly, my Mom passed this afternoon surrounded by her children.  We have one brother, Jon, who is landing in China in the next number of hours.  Once Jon gets the message and lets up know when he can come right back, then we schedule the final ceremonies. It may be Tues if Jon can be back by then.
We are meeting at the mortuary tomorrow to start the predeedings on all the things that need to be addressed.  When I know more I will follow up with another email.
Please let our family and friends know.
Thanks for all your kind words, thoughts, prayers, wishes and support.

Subject: My Mom -

Hello everybody. I just got a call from my brother that the attempted 2nd Chemo treatment for Mom over the last few days pretty much threw her into the next state of decline.  I am not trying to be morbid and down, I am relaying some medical realities.
Mom stopped eating a few days ago and where we had a good couple of weeks of visits and suppers with her, she is now in the next phase of decline where her organs are now basically starting to shut down.  She is receiving acute care today and rather than move her back to the hospital where they have been shuffle-ling her to receive Chemo, she will remain where she is thanks to Donny who is advocating for her and this will allow her to slip into the Hospice care right there. ( So I understand).
So she has an intravenous drip to hydrate her but she is not eating any solid food.  We went through the exact scenario with my Dad and so this is not new to us.  I have to basically process the fact the last few days did not go well and that she got sicker and weaker.
Who knows ?  I'll visit her tomorrow I think once I have come to terms with this decline in her health.
Today she is getting looked at by a lot of Doctors who wanted to Hospitalize her but her wishes are to remain where she is and let nature take its course.
It's sad, I'm sad for her, but we all know the right way to look at this.
Your friend and relative,
P.S.  I am glad to hear that Leonard and family are safe in Houston post Ikes' aftermath.
>>Just thought you should know Leonard and family including David Greenbaum are all safe.  No power- for anyone-but they are safe.  Leonard is a first responder-so he is allowed back into the evacuated areas and his on his way to check his house-and then to work.  Please forward to the family for me.  Thanks-thinking of all of you!
