Evening all

The Club are looking to re-establish some regular subsidised training / coaching courses over the next year or so.  There are various ways we could potentially go about this from individual guides to larger organisations/companies (e.g. Glenmore).

Ideally it would be great to be able to commit to a small programme of training courses and we want to try our best to make sure that these give benefit to all members.

To that end, we would appreciate if you could spare 5 mins completing the below form to indicate what you would be most interested in.  Each option should be scored from 1 (most interested) to 10 (least interested). This topic is to be discussed at the next Committee meeting (13th January).

Please only complete if you would seriously consider taking up some training during 2025/2026.

Thanks

Doug
(On behalf of JMCS Committee)

Hope you can help

Hi Denise,

It took me a while to figure out how to submit it too. It seems each option needs to be ranked (i.e. don't miss any out) and two options can't be given the same number. So, there should be one option given a value of 1, one option given a value of 2, etc.

Hope that helps!

Andy

yes, that is correct.
I just sent a message to Doug about it.

The error message is:

Please don't select more than one response per column

I don't know if this can be changed, but the test should be for multiple
responses per row.

The trouble with the current test is that with 10 courses, and 10 gradings, I anyway am forced to give high ratings to courses that I am not interested in.

Thanks. I did all that. It didn't let you enter any more than 2. I did it all I'm sure. I looked and checked. Of course it is fiddly because I'm working on a small phone so I needed to keep moving the columns to see things so I ranked a question lower eg self rescue I might have put 6 and than decided it's quite important than ranked it 7. This may have mistakenly appeared as 2 entries (given I couldn't see it and needed to move it along as I could only see numbers 7 to 10 and than had to shift it to see 1 to 6 separately. This may have made it think I was trying to put to answers in. But it wouldn't let me anyway. I just thought it was the bot warning me of this which seemed silly as we are ranking 1 to 10 why would we be needing to put 2 answers..? But this may have messed the form up.

There is also the possibility it may be my device. I am wondering maybe it's best to send to me again so I can have another go.

These forms usually work. Although I haven't come across any with a ranking system.

I only have a tablet which is a similar thing. I can't get to a pc until around 14th jan

Looking forward to the courses and seeing you guys

Best wishes Denise 🤗 x

Hi all

A few emails about the form not allowing multiple of the same rankings. This is partly due to Google not having a slick option for this and partly deliberate to not allow lots of ”favourites” (ie 5x 1s) as it would be harder to prioritise.

This is just a start to enable discussion and will inevitably be imperfect.  To help please bear the below in mind when completing.

If interested in multiple, focus in top 3 or 4.

If any are not of interest reflect what you think it would be good the Club offers to others, acknowledging breadth of membership and Club aims etc.

If you have strong opinions that only 1-2 are relevant. Please get in touch and I will capture for discussion.

Also remember that 1 is most interested and 10 is least interested.

Thanks
Doug
