Winter Meets 2025

Hi all,

for the 3 x Winter Climbing Meets I am organising, please find a list of all those attending for each meet.

Apologies to anyone not getting on all of the Meets that they requested but demand was high. (great to see such an appetite the Club for a cheeky wee winter climbing adventure or two though !)

January Winter Climbers Meet - Fri 17 & Sat 18 nights -Cabin for climbing on the Sat 18 & Sun 19 January

Ruth Love, Andy Bladon, Doug Pender, Michael Stevenson, Robbie Hewitt, David Allan, Jamie Potts, Lawrence Clark, Peter Maclay and Alex Kinloch.

That makes 10 rather than my envisioned 8. However being the first one and at the Cabin I did not want to turn anyone away (I'll be there also but will sleep just round the corner at the Raeburn hut to free up a bedspace).

Fri 28 Feb & Sat 1 March at the Cabin for climbing on Sat/Sun 1^st & 2^nd March

CIC Hut - Joint SMC / Ed JMCS Meet - Weekend of 5 & 6 April

Devon Russell, Michael Stevenson, Andy Bladon, Alex Kinloch, David Payne and Andrew Crowe. 

The CIC Hut custodian gave the Edinburgh JMCS a max of bed spaces so I had no wiggle room on that one. Doug Pender and myself will also be there. But us both being SMC members will use up those slots.

Apologies Robbie you are not on that one. Hopefully James will take that into account when allocating spaces for the other CIC hut meet.

I'll leave it up to those attending those meets to get themselves sorted into teams. Perhaps create a WhatsApp Group for each of these meets.

Thanks all for getting in touch with me and for your enthusiasm.

Here's hoping it all pays off and we'll have a ton of quality winter routes in the bag to boast of when this winter is done.

PS - don't forget that the Thurs & Sun nights on both of those Cabin meets are free if anybody is wanting to extend their stay.  So long as you give me ample notice of your intention to do this. 

PPS - A PLEA - You MUST take ALL of your rubbish away with you, clean up the stove/ash in Cabin and leave the huts as clean if not cleaner as when you arrived.

(there was much hassle for me this year on a number of occasions when it was alleged that our Club had not done this)
