Hi all,

The Cabin is available this weekend for a meet. About half the spaces are booked already but there remains some space.

Currently there is no piped hot water, but kettles & stove can provide.

Conditions have been amazing of late however it appears to be getting mild this weekend.

Take the usual hut stuff, pillowcase, dish towel, ear plugs £coins, hut comforts and refreshments. Fuel for the stove. If you take hut slippers cleaning can be much less. Members are £4 pppn towards electricity standing charge (plus you have to feed the below rate meter). Guests £14pppn.

If you want to come on the meet please let me know. jamesd...@btinternet.com

The following weekend we have eight spaces at the CIC hut. Interest has been keen. Anyone not already noted their interest and wanting to go should drop me a line.

Kindest regards

James

Hi all,

Late in the day we have decided to base this Edinburgh Victoria holiday long weekend at our own hut the Cabin. Intentions were to be based further West however the attractions of comfort, cheapness, being only two hours drive away, and easy to go East or West whichever is best, won the day.

An hour to Polldubh (or Glenfinnan), fifty minutes to the Northern Corries, local crags of Creag Dubh, Kingussie, Farrletter and near to the A9 venues of Creag na H-eighe, Dunkeld (and as usual at this time of year check for raptors and don't disturb them).

Take the usual hut stuff, pillowcase, dish towel, ear plugs £coins, hut comforts and refreshments. Fuel for the stove. If you take hut slippers cleaning can be much less. Members are £4 pppn towards electricity standing charge (plus you have to feed the subsidised rate meter). Guests £14pppn.

If you want to come on the meet please let me know. jamesd...@btinternet.com

Kindest regards
James

Hi James,

I hate to say it, but the Guildford Arms was last week.

It was quite successful, so maybe is being repeated without me this time...

Spot the obvious error. Pub meet was last week. But a couple of folks going to Cabin already.

Hi Bryan,

Ah, OK I was really tied up with CIC stuff last week. At least CIC is booked for next year. I nearly missed it, the SMC have changed their booking system without notice (at least to plebs like us) again. It has gone from a strict 12 months to 13months. meaning we would have missed out usual slot in the free for all.

So just managed to book 6 places for 21 22 March 2025. £312

Just need Bruce to cough up his fee for the weekend.

I might check on an old friend and see if he wants out on a dreich night.

Summer meets out next week I think. Bruce and Doug going up to Cabin this weekend.

James

Hi all,
A late reminder that the Cabin is available of the Easter weekend for a meet.

A bit mild but fairly benign conditions. I would go but for recovering from a bug.

If you want to go on the meet drop me a line jamesd...@btinternet.com.

Kindest regards
James
