Hi guys, my name is Ana Lucia Gonzalez and I am Sam´s wife. I am
introducing myself so you know a little about me and what I do. I am
a graduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and yes I am
still working on that MA (Early Intermediate Period pottery of
Oroloma). 2
-Sam and I have two wonderful and very energetic daughters (5 yrs and
2 yrs old). They will be living with us in Cangahua so they will be
hanging around the dig house, town, site, hacienda, etc.
-In terms of traveling, well we just arrived in Quito last night and
we were expected to fill out three forms but one form asked questions
about our current health status. Once you´re done with imigration
(make sure you keep that little yellow form-poof you´ve entered the
country) you have to make another line and this one is to stand in
front of a camera that senses the temperature of your body (heat
sensor). I assume if it´s too high they will physically take your
temperature (which I saw them doing). This is their effort in
preventing the spread of swine flu. If you are fine then you are free
to go and get your suitcases.
-The weather in Quito is beautiful, we´re wearing short-sleeves but
remember it always gets chilly at night about 50 something degrees.
