Addiction is now accepted as a treatable mental disorder. Struggling
with addiction is not a matter of making good or bad choices, it is
the loss of choice due to a variety of genetic and environmental
factors.

Our treatment team also subscribes that the approach from the Big Book
of Alcoholics Anonymous that addiction is a spiritual malady.The 12-
Step program of AA is a template for long term sobriety that is built
upon fellowship with other recovering women and the process of

* attending support groups
* working through the 12-Steps of recovery with a "sponsor"
* once sober, helping others who are newer to the process

Alcoholics Anonymous is the foundation for millions of recovering
women and the recovery community in Newport Beach is unparallelled in
it's variety and excellence of 12-Step based meetings. We introduce
women to some of the strongest support group meetings so that they can
be exposed to women who are truly living life and enjoying it sober.
