Just a reminder that the latest East Austin Stories will be screened
tonight, 6:30 at the community hall of Our Lady of Guadalupe and again
at 9:30 at Café Mundi.

Come join us to see the brand new round of films. Students are
literally still adding finishing touches for tonight’s premiere.

Food, starting over, change in the neighborhoods, young mothers,
non-traditional fathers, the importance of memory and place, family,
independence, and the media are all subjects for the documentaries in
this round of East Austin Stories.

The short films, between 4 and 12 minutes long, are all made by through
a class at U.T. with two basic guidelines; the stories are to originate
in East Austin and the first audiences will people in East Austin
communities.

These documentaries will all, eventually, be available on the website,
along with the documentaries made last semester. They will join the
70+plus stories already available, but that won’t be for a few months.
Tonight is the chance to see them new, projected (new, bigger screen!)
with a live audience. I hope you’ll be able to join us.

For more information, e-mail me at in...@EastAustinStories.org. You can
view the other stories at the web site at www.EastAustinStories.org.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is located at 1206 East 9th street. There
is parking in the area between the church buildings, right in front of
the community building, across the street from the Texas State
Cemetery. Café Mundi is at 1704 East Fifth street, just west of the
corner of Fifth and Chicon.

Sincerely,
Andrew Garrison
