A 60-minute selection of East Austin Stories will be screened on Sunday

at 1:15 at the Video Cabaret of the Kalita Humphries Theater at
the
Dallas Theater Center. Thank you to Bart Weiss, Dallas Video Festival

Director. The films will also be brodcast on KERA on the series
"Frame
of Mind." Here's the line up:

1. "Meander" trt5:34, makers: Toni De Aztlan, Diane Zilliox, James
Boisvenue
A beautiful, impressionistic look at a day in East Austin through many
eyes.

2. "Clarence" trt 6:20, makers: Bryan Lozano and Jessica Gardner.
Clarence Pierce, blues guitarist extraordinaire and raconteur, from the

Eastside Kings.

3 "Nokoa News and Observer," trt 7:42, makers: Damien Brockmann, Mary
Ann McQuillen, Jack McWilliams, Chris Obal. Akwasi Evans is the
tough-minded editor/publisher of "The Nokoa News and Observer." An
independent weekly in East Austin.

4. "Memories are More Vivid at Night," trt 1:56, maker: Mary Ann
McQuillen Places are repositories for memory. They shape us as much

as we shape them.

5. "For Me and Him," trt 7:54, makers: Helen Gagne, Jennifer Perales,
Chrisitina Kim
Two young mothers talking candidly about their lives, their children
and their hopes.

6. "Playing Papi," trt 8:52, makers: Miguel Guajardo, Javier
Guajardo, Lane Genzlinger,
Arrlette Salcedo, Juan Valadéz A reflection on fatherhood, featuring

two men who are the primary care providers for their children.
Although the producers include two fathers auditing the course, and two
RTF undergraduates, one of the producers is 9-year-old Javier
Guajardo, talking and making media about his father Miguel.

7. "Laying the Foundation," trt 11:52, makers: Matthew Carey, Aaron
Castillo, Amy Khoshbin. Ann Wolfe was a street fighter, living under
a
highway bridge with her two daughters when she was discovered by Don
"Pops" Billingsley. Today she holds three world titles and devotes
herself to her boxing career, and the kids in the neighborhood.

8. "Piercing," trt 5:29, Makers: Angel Pedraza, Jared "Ashtray
Atkins, Tara Fowler
A classic "Don't Try This at Home," cautionary tale. This
fabulous but not-for-the-squeamish documentary was made as part of
Trent Sharp's Reagan High School media class working in collaboration
with the East Austin Stories class.
