Here is something to consider. Instead of or in addition to taking a picture in a cut out scene, you could do this. The pictures show the procedure. A person stands in front of a green screen. A picture is taken and then digitally and added to a chosen background. Think about it.

I like the idea, but it would require 1 more volenteer to do photo process.
Stuart; what you doing next April? If we found someone for Sierra table.....
I do like the option, lots of possibilities.
Thanks for your good work and for continuing to think of Earthfest.

We can talk to Kanza. I do not know them or what they did.
After that I would check with Kent AV, see what a package might be available. Might even look to see if video toaster could do this. I have seen chroma-key back screes available on eBay.
If we have someone to make it happen day of event, I will chase resources and get training before Earthfest 8.

Sounds fun! Do you know how to do it? Can we borrow the equipment from the Kanza group that did it for something last year? I have no idea how it's done!

The Kanza Group is a group of Sierra Club members living in the Kansas City, KS area.

I think that it is a simple procedure to produce. You would want to make sure that the background color isn't what a large portion of people would wear. You would take a photo and from that make a jpg with the background color as transparent. You would then put the picture on the background of their choice. you would need a digital camera, computer with the correct software and a color printer. Someone would have to practice to get dimensions correct and make sure that the background is transparent. There would also need to be some time finding unusual backgrounds.
