Disability Awareness: Wednesday, April 3rd

As part of AMSA's Disability Awareness Month, the neuro and psych interest groups are hosting two speakers from St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children. St. Mary's is a long-term pediatric residential care facility dedicated exclusively to children with severe physical and intellectual disabilities resulting from birth defects, trauma, illness, child abuse and more. Staff provide medical, therapeutic, educational and recreational services for as many as 92 children and young adults, ages newborn to 21 years old, who stay an average of 7-9 years.
