Energy performance certificate

During our Friday meeting, Ines told us about Energy Performance Certificates that are required in Germany for rental units and addressing the landlord/tenant barrier to adopting energy efficiency.

Here is one report analyzing EPC's across several EU countries, and the effectiveness and limitations of home performance ratings for the rental market.

I am still making my way through the report, and have only skimmed parts, but it seems to indicate that there is a positive correlation between high EPC scores and rental prices, that availability of EPC scoring does lead to homeowners taking action, but some attention needs to be made on how it is implemented, and a quality contractor market cultivated
