Hi,
This tour conflicts with our meeting but maybe we should go on the tour instead.
Thanks,
Thida

Thida, please share this invitation w/ Buildings & Land Use.

Hannah, you would probably really enjoy this tour if you have time to go.  At your discretion you can share it with the whole TF, but it would be nice if B&LU folks get first crack at the 15 seats.

I took this tour 2 months ago.  It's an amazing facility!  Significant parts of the tour are exceptionally noisy.  Closed toed shoes are required, along with hard hats and ear plugs that Stanford will provide.

Cheers,
Bruce

Join us this Friday at 11 AM for a tour of electrification on a big scale with thermal grid and thermal storage.

This is a great chance to see Stanford’s ground breaking energy saving, water saving, carbon saving, labor saving Heat Pump and energy storage system that recycles waste heat from some buildings and trades it for waste coolth from others so that all buildings are happier.   Now the system recovers 75% of waste heat and waste cool and trades them back and forth.  This cut natural gas need to very low levels and cut cooling tower water use by 85%.
Stanford is replicating this system in smaller scale on a project in Redwood City.

We will be touring The Stanford site with one or two Danish researchers studying the possible widespread expansion of district heating systems in Europe.  (They have lots of experience and new design tools there.)

We have 15 more spots open on the tour so feel free to extend the invitation to folks interested in electrification and thermal grids for sustainability and comfort..

One hour long Tour starts at 11:00 AM.  Friday December 8th.
Meet at the patio near front corner of building. (East side of building)  There is parking in the lot to the east of the building payable with an app.

506  Oak Rd, Stanford, CA near intersection of Searsville Rd and Fremont Rd.

Best Regards,
-Tom Kabat

I'm open to it.  What do others think?

Let's proceed with the meeting at the Atrium Room in City Hall as planned.  If anyone from the group wants to attend the tour and report back next time, please feel free :).

Thanks for the definite plan to meet as a committee although your sounds great. I guess that there will be other opportunities.
