First of all, I want to acknowledge that this is short notice.
However, at this juncture in the life of the NVC Global Network, I
think it's really important that we put our heads and hearts together
to remind ourselves and each other of who in our Network has exhibited
the leadership qualities and vision that we respect and admire. These
will be the people that we want to nominate to speak on behalf of the
NVC Global Network (us!) during the GCC strategic planning process.
There is no limit to the number of people each of us can suggest, so
it's not like we will be deciding among candidates. So I'd like to
get together with the people whose opinions I trust and facilitate a
one-hour heartstorming session.

That discussion will be the only agenda item. That's why this is a
"special" meeting.

The catch is that, while the GCC is not requesting "consolidated"
group input, they are asking for our nominations by June 20th! That
means we have only the rest of this week to decide on a time/date to
meet in order to actually have the meeting by the middle of next week
so that we'll have a day or two to sit with what we share before
filling out the form(s).

So I've launched a doodle at this link:

http://www.doodle.com/39gzcwskgirzucnc

Notice that there is a horizontal scroll bar; there are 30 times/dates
from which to choose. There are both weekend and weekday options, and
there are both early and late options. I realize that "early" and
"late" are relative terms; remember that in order to keep the hours
between 10:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. "sacred" for our entire slice of the
Global Network (Brazil to Hawaii), you may find that there are no
morning options or no evening options in your particular time zone.

So please grab your day planner AS SOON AS YOU GET THIS MESSAGE and go
to the above link and let me know when it would be possible for you to
participate - or observe, if that is your preference.

Even if you have already filled out your ballot(s), you are still
welcome to attend this special meeting. Conversely, in case you would
not enjoy being on the call or are not able to be available due to
prior commitments that you choose to keep, I encourage you to let your
voice be heard anyway. The ballot is an input form that is linked
here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nvccertificationcandidates/message/4393

There is also a link in the same yahoo message to the spreadsheet
itself where the recommendations from everywhere can be viewed at any
time - and they are already starting to trickle in.

This is so cool that the GCC is doing this! Back in October, when I
was a volunteer for CNVC to collect input for the Board's strategic
planning process, nobody asked the Network who should be interviewed.
(Actually, I proposed a "fifth tier" [Board, GCC, professional staff,
and clerical staff were the first four tiers] of global leaders, and I
was amazed and delighted to see all of them included on my "short
list.") Nobody asked the Network who should be invited to participate
in the two global conference calls. Thank you, GCC, for asking the
Network who to invite to your strategic planning teleconferences! And
a special thank you to Glenda for setting up a system for easily
collecting and sorting the responses - and Glenda, I never thought I'd
be thanking you for a spreadsheet!

Well, clearly we're not going to be meeting tomorrow! I'm
particularly disappointed not to have heard from people who have said
to me in the past that if only there were weekend dates offered, they
would like to attend meetings. I deleted the five times for tomorrow
from the doodle; so there are still 25 times/dates from which to
choose. Here is the link:

http://www.doodle.com/39gzcwskgirzucnc

Remember, this meeting will NOT be business as usual; it will be a
heart-storming about who we are thinking about nominating for the
GCC's upcoming strategic planning teleconferences. We have until
Friday to respond to the GCC's request. I, for one, would really
enjoy getting together with a few of my best friends and most trusted
advisers (YOU!) to toss around some ideas. Please respond to the
doodle, and I'll reserve us a conference line.

I've booked the conference line for 4:00p.m. EDT (10:00a.m. Hawaii,
1:00p.m. PTD, 5:00p.m. Rio, 20.00GMT/UT) on Monday, June 15th - the
day after tomorrow. Even if you didn't doodle, you are welcome to
join the call. The call-in number is 1-218-936-6581, and the Call ID
is 2809. Other options for connection can be found in the Files
section in a document called Participant Using Provider or at this
link:

http://www.cnvc.org/node/5795

I'll open the line ten or fifteen minutes before the start of the
call.

Judy, I tried to email you in response to your comments on the doodle,
but it bounced. The error message says Recipient address rejected:
Greylisted for 5 minutes: retry timeout exceeded. Seeing that you
want to be included in the conversation AND that you're looking at
times in the middle of the night, I'm wanting to support you and not
knowing how I can do so. What if I set up a second call? I'm
changing the times on the doodle accordingly, so I would ask that you
return to the doodle and try again. Here's the link:

Due to the lack of response, I have NOT booked the conference line for
a second Special ESAG Meeting. I am, however, available for one-on-
ones for the next 48 hours (until the GCC's stated deadline) between
the hours of 10:00a.m. and midnight EDT. I can be reached at
276-739-0047, and I have unlimited long distance in the USA and
Canada, so if you want me to initiate the call, please Reply to Author
to this post with your phone number. Or contact me by (free) Skype
voice at susan24210. Judy? John? Anyone else?

Susan, I consent to the minutes above. I would like to add my name to
the recommendations for the NVC Leadership Team and invite any
reactions, responses, and perspective from all of you out there. You
will find my statement and that of others in support of my
recommendation for the leadership team on the spreadsheet. I am a
deeply committed giraffe with profound presence and focus who is
developing more and more skills by the day. My whole life has been
about communication. I have a great deal to contribute and would love
to enter into the heart of CNVC where I can make a difference and grow
in ways that no other opportunity presents right now. I am actually
upping the stakes by applying to be the Communications Coordinator,
which includes membership on the leadership team.

If you or anyone else wants to discuss this with me, please call at
310-791-9738.

Thanks and all the best, Craig.
