The message below was posted to a work group of which I am not a
member, so google wouldn't let me simply Forward it. The message is
dated August 5, and it's from Jerry Koch-Gonzalez. Please read it
before the August meeting (doodle will follow soon) so you can share
your reaction with the group.

Dear participants in the GCC's strategic vision and planning
teleconferences,

From July 21 to July 26, 15 NVC trainers, mostly certified, mostly
from Eastern US and Canada, gathered for a retreat. We delighted to be
among peers – learning from each other and sharing empathy, gratitude
and honesty. We also had sessions on the history and current state of
CNVC and on how we want to move forward from here. Most significantly,
we agreed we want the global NVC network to move forward without
dependence on Marshall or CNVC.
Three of us were present at this retreat who will be participating in
the GCC international calls: Jeff Brown, Valerie Lancot-Bedard, and
Jerry Koch-Gonzalez. One evening the three of us talked about how we
would answer the questions that will be asked on those calls. Here is
our collective answer. We share it with you in hopes of sparking
discussion and movement towards action.

1. What is your long-term vision for the global NVC Community to
connect with each other? (one or two sentences) What needs would be
met by achieving this vision?
a. Answer: Empower ourselves both individually and collectively
to be
the change we want to see in the world
2. How are you imagining this global NVC community will be
organized
to most effectively live and share NVC? (e.g, what groups /
organizations will exist, for what purposes, and how they will be
connected for mutual support and effectiveness)
a. Answer: Build the global NVC community by generating a
governance
structure (such as sociocracy) that makes decisions about resources,
ensures continuity and integrity of NVC worldwide, maintains a
certification process, mobilizes resources, supports the growth and
development of regional and local NVC organizations, and maintains a
clearing house of best practices.
3. What do you see as the key next step(s) to moving toward your
current vision?
a. Answer: 1) that we reach a shared understanding among
participants
on the GCC International calls that we are moving forward with
autonomy from CNVC and 2) that we put in place an initial leadership
circle that addresses governance structure and certification.
4. What do you see as the next steps in moving the strategic
vision
process forward?
a. Answer: Each call group identifies who has energy to help make
#3
happen. GCC convenes that group and together develop a proposal for
the aim and membership of the initial leadership circle. That proposal
is brought to the participants of the calls to check for consent/work
through objections by emails and/or one to one calls.

We hope you will share your own answers or your responses to what we
have shared so that we can build the quality and depth of our shared
visions and plans and be effective at moving from vision to action.
