At our March meeting, we achieved full clarity that the Relationships
proposal is a gift FOR the CNVC from ?the undersigned members of ESAC?
in answer to the call from the Board of Directors for groups
throughout the global community to articulate the direction we would
like them to take, and that it is endorsement we are seeking rather
than consent since its implementation is not within the scope of our
circle and certainly not within the scope of the circles and groups
that comprise our membership. We believe that any further
modifications are implementation details are most appropriately taken
up within the circle that will be doing the formal consenting and
implementing ? in other words, the CNVC Board of Directors.

If you were to consent to a proposal, you would be expressing a
willingness to do something. With gratitude to Rhonda Mills for
sending us down this avenue of inquiry, doesn?t it seem inconsistent
with our desire to embody NVC at all levels of interaction to be
consenting to a proposal for what someone else ?should? do? How would
we receive it if the tables were turned and the Board ?consented? to a
proposal for ESAC to meet quarterly or for ESAC to require that its
members have the resources to attend face-to-face meetings twice a
year, for example? If you were to endorse the Relationships proposal,
you would simply be saying that you share the vision it describes ?
that you would like to be a Stakeholder in such a Community.

Our plan for moving forward with this initiative is to submit the
attached version of the proposal so that we don?t get bogged down in
an endless cycle of requests for revisions and checking back with
those who have already endorsed. I repeat that this proposal is a
gift. Those of us who have put our energy and love into its
development are just wanting to know who else would like to add their
signature to the virtual gift card, and anyone who can?t live without
a revision is welcome to submit their own version ? or not!

So what we are asking is that you carefully consider whether or not
the proposal captures your vision of a community to which you want to
belong? If not, then we still love you! If so, are you willing to
stand up and be counted by lending the weight of your endorsement to
it? If not, then we still love you! If so, what form will your
endorsement take? This last question is not a yes-no question and is
the reason we are curbing our eagerness to put the proposal in the
hands of the CNVC Board members at least until our April meeting so
that you will have the opportunity to bring the proposal to the next
meeting of your group(s) so that your membership can consider the
following questions, too.

Will it be the name of the group? The names of individuals? Both?
The name of your group has a certain credibility in the eyes of the
Board since their original call for proposals was to groups and not to
individuals.

Will individuals include a title or not? As Kirsten Kristensen
pointed out several weeks ago, the title Certified Trainer adds
considerable weight to your signature in the eyes of the Board, so I?m
guessing that if you have a title you are willing to use, that would
add weight to your signature, too.

How will you document the signature(s)? Phone numbers? Email
addresses? Websites? All of the above? This is again a credibility
issue since a worst-case scenario might be a bunch of endorsements in
the name of people who haven?t even seen the proposal ? not that you
or I would do such a thing, but the possibility exists, so I would
like to pre-empt its consideration by the Board by offering
easily-verifiable endorsements.

So I?ll use my own endorsement as an example because I intend to
provide the maximum weight that is within my authority and use my
name, title, group name, and contact information, and to provide the
maximum possible ways to verify the endorsement:
