Except for the last statement which I labeled Note, the first section
consists of verbatim excerpts from the consented Minutes of the most
recent LT Extended Forum. I would so love to be able to reconcile
what I see as a web of contradictions in that first subsection! Are
there or are there not more assessors available now? Is there or is
there not training available for certified trainers to become
assessors? Are registered candidates supposed to contact the (still
unknown) assessor or wait to be contacted by them? If there are new
assessors available now, will they take new applications for
certification as soon as the new assessor is ready or must they wait
until Governance announces that they are all ready? And in summary,
what's so profound that no new applications have been taken for almost
2 1/2 years?!?
These are not concerns of ESAC as a Circle, but I am aware that they
are very deep concerns for individual members, so I'm inviting us to
work together to see if we can make sense of this. What IS of concern
to ESAC is the acknowledgment by the Admin Team of our contribution to
connection and communication for the Global Community. I invite you
to share my celebration that, at least in some ways and in some
largely unexpected quarters, the existence and functioning of this
group is appreciated.
The second section is a condensation of a much longer document that
Jerry K-G posted to the Certification Candidates yahoo group. The
first three paragraphs are not verbatim excerpts but rather reporting
on my part. The rest consists of some decisions and action items that
I believe are relevant to ESAC.
The first piece following the reporting (a statement, a decision, and
two action items) is the closest I've seen the GCC come to what John
Mudie has called "throwing the tea in the harbor" or "moving to the
front of the bus." I celebrate that the GCC wants to deepen its
connection with the Global Network at the same time as it is moving
toward autonomy and shared power with respect to CNVC. My evaluation
is that this is a provocative but necessary and ultimately healthy move.
The second piece (an observation and two decisions) is an indication
of how the GCC sees itself in relationship to ESAC and was the
stimulus for the 30-minute Item 3.2 on Tuesday's agenda. By way of
stimulating your deliberations in preparation for Tuesday's meeting
and opening the discussion, I will say right here and now that I am
not willing to consent to a Coordinator for ESAC that is selected by
the GCC without the GCC's willingness to consent to a Representative
from ESAC that is selected from ESAC. In other words, if the GCC is
invoking the sociocratic double link, then I want to see both halves
in place - especially since the person they are proposing is the very
same person who stated an intention at our April meeting to bring a
proposal to ESAC that it dissolve itself!
So I hope that perhaps your passion but at least your curiosity is
stimulated by this email and that you will agree that there are some
substantive issues on our agenda, and I will repeat my strong request
that you support us with your presence, your voice, your mind, and
your heart on Tuesday.
