As part of the HARC 'Violence on the Early Modern
Stage' series of events, the Department of Drama and Theatre will be hosting a
workshop and discussion in the early modern playhouse-inspired Caryl Churchill
Theatre to explore this intersection between Ancient Greek dramaturgy and
Renaissance theatre spaces. The event will bring together professional
playwrights, directors, and performers, workshopping a text in the theatre
space and reflecting on recent performances inspired by Greek tragedy at
Shakespeare's Globe. The event is open to interested researchers,
practitioners, and students from all disciplines.
