The focus of the third edition of the “Museums in Arabia” conference - hosted by the American University of Sharjah in April 2017 - is engaging a broad discussion around architecture, art and design within the context of museums and galleries in the Gulf. The aim is to analyse the gap among these topics by providing a forum for participants to discuss for further academic discourse and professional practice within the region. This conference will be interesting for academics and students working in the field of museums and cultural heritage in the region as well as for museum and gallery practitioners, art historians, artists, designers, architects, and, more broadly, those with an interest in the sociocultural, economic and political landscape of the United Arab Emirates.
