Subject: Response to the Oak Creek Gurudwara shooting
To: "interf" <int...@sfu.ca>

The Interfaith Institute for Justice Peace and Social Movements responds with grief, outrage and solidarity to the racist attack on the Oak Creek Sikh Gurudwara in Wisconsin. We express our deep sorrow to those who are touched personally by this act. Because all of us are impacted by this event and others like it, we pledge to deepen our work of interfaith understanding and solidarity and to keep a critique of racism and colonialism at the heart of what we do.

We invite you to act and reflect with us:

The Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey will be holding a prayer and candlelight vigil on Tuesday evening from 6 pm onward at 7050 120th Street in Surrey.

And Harsha Walia of No One Is Illegal has written a powerful piece on the logic of hate crimes.
