I am not sure if you can open this link if you are not on facebook.  This is a warning that the government of India wants to require all medical students to study alternative medicine!  This might be an important topic to review.

I listened to the video and if I understand it properly it is even worse than Judy suggests.   Even if medical students are being trained in traditional medicine I don’t think they are required to use it.    But iit seems that the Indian authorities are also allowing practitioners of  some traditional medical practices to perform surgeries.  Which strikes me as a much more serious

Dear Group,
I was hoping someone would break the tie in possible topics for our zoom meeting on Sunday. We have two comments about requiring instruction in traditional medicine in India and two on the Fed and inflation. Both are interesting, but it's not up to me to decide. Of course it's not necessary to agree on an agenda, but if you wish to express a preference, please do so soon so we'll all have time to read or view the "assignment." In the meantime, here is the link for our meeting.
All best,
Alan

I vote to postpone the discussion of medicine in India—for a selfish reason: I won’t be able to join you this Sunday (conflict with another event that I’m in charge of).

As some of you know, I was in India a few years ago and visited an Ayervedic “clinic”. When I returned I gave a slide talk to our group about that and other non-rational practices I observed while there. So I’m VERY interested in the topic and would have something to say.

I would hate to have to miss that discussion!

In view of the contribution Joan can bring to the subject of traditional medicine in India, I vote that we postpone that discussion for a month until she can be present and, instead, on Sunday, we focus on Irene's suggestion.  Here is the link she offered.
See you all on Sunday at 5:00 PDT.  By the way, the floor is wide open.
Best,
Alan

My apologies as well.  I I just woke from my “nap” which lasted three hours.

It seems to have been a nearly universal space-out. On my calendar, but I didn’t look at it. Sorry to all.

Judy, Irene, Dan,
You were missed but we had fun. The next meeting will be Sunday, August 22, and, unless something else comes up, we'll discuss the requirement of traditional medicine in India.  Judy, please recirculate that article about a week ahead of time. Joyce proposed discussing the furor over Critical Race Theory. That could be the topic for our September session.  PLEASE NOTE: our group has moved from googlegroups.com to our new address: EBSSD...@groups.io, the second of the addresses in the header to this email. Please address future correspondence to us all at this address: EBSSD...@groups.io.
Best to all,
Alan
