Webinar this Wednesday, 10/12! Existing Building Decarbonization Code: the Gamechanger We Need in the Climate Fight |
New Buildings Institute (NBI) recently released the Existing Building Decarbonization Code, an overlay to the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for both residential and commercial projects. This model code language provides a pathway for jurisdictions to reduce carbon emissions and meet climate action plan goals along with interconnected goals around public health and equity.
To explain the Existing Building Decarbonization Code, we are hosting a one-hour webinar, which will also feature the City and County of Denver's experience advancing codes and policies to effectively decarbonize existing buildings. |
"Provisions in the Existing Building Decarbonization Code for needed energy efficiency, system-by-system electrification, and onsite renewable energy generation can be integrated with, or used in place of, jurisdictional BPS policies to aid in overall building sector decarbonization and energy use reductions."
