I'm cc'ing this to E-Primal because our other list members might be able to use it.

Thank you for pointing these out!  I'll fix them when I next update the site--hopefully, this week.

> btw, when do you plan to get primal into the unicode registry?

That's not the top priority at the mement, unfortunately.  I'm in grad school so my free time is pretty scarce.  This week is Spring Break, so I want to design a Primal applet that will perform flash-card operations with grammar words and essential words, so that's my current goal.  I'm always interested in outside help in developing the tutorial and learning tools, though.  Among the difficulties in learning Primal are that its structure is a bit alien from English, and it's not a simple conlang like Klingon where all you have to do is memorize which words fit in which slots.  It's more like learning a natural language, and those things are really hard to write teaching tools for.  Someday we'll get there, though.  No matter how much I gafiate from furry I intend to maintain and support the Primal tutorial online.  :)

Old stuff that needed fixin's:

> In the essential words thing. vak or vach
> vaj (vak) *name* A name, label, or identifier.

Should be vak. Fixed.

> and in the accent section. oar or ohw
> Roarers, bleaters, bellowers, and grunters:
> Add special emphasis to ,b (ohw)
> and ,B (oi) sounds.

Should be ohw. Fixed.

I won't be updating the site again for at least another week or two. I need
to figure out how to embed the programs into applet form. If I manage to do
that, I may be able to change some of the tutorial so that people won't need
to download the font first, and make it interactive (and more accessible).
That's my long-term goal, anyway.

Wow i can't believe i sent you that terribly worded email, especially
with hi hi*feels embarresed*

Sorry i think i found another error today, in the special phrases
section you used "dthaw-kel" as pronunciation whare it looks like it
should be "dthauw-kel", i could have missed a pronunciation rule
though.

> btw, when do you plan to get primal into the unicode registry?

I had the idea that if primal was in unicode, it could easily be
integrated into OS's without the font, and easily translate
things,which i was wrong about.

Still don't know primal very well yet, and the Pidgin in the
dictionary looks scary.

*wonders if any of you primal knower's would want to talk to him*

It's just a misspelling of the phonetic transcription, which is common
because I do them by hand (at present). There's no phoneme in Primal that
has a transcription of "aw", so yes, that's an error.

Yeah, I made the mistake of using English letters like "g" to represent
vowel sounds when I should have used the vowels with the funny hats. I
produced that book under a rigid timeline so there were a plethora of
errors.

I'm actually considering giving away the books and producing a second
edition someday, but I haven't decided yet.

Do you have a lot left of them left? Maybe you can do a quick fix to
all the known errors and publish a PDF of the 1st edition.

There's no quick fix really. There are too many corrections and even more
omissions.

The worst correction in the book is the description of nu and Qu, which
caused a lot of the words in the dictionary to be listed with the wrong noun
prefix. All in all it's not that bad, but there are others.
