Natural disasters are on the rise. In 2024 alone, severe weather caused $8.5B of losses in Canada — driven by wildfires, floods, and hailstorms.
Across South Asia, the past month has seen flash floods displacing thousands in northern Pakistan and a 6.0 earthquake in Afghanistan, leaving families in crisis. Refugee numbers are rising worldwide. Over 42.7 million people are now refugees, and 122 million have been forced to flee due to conflict and hardship.
Focus Humanitarian Assistance has been at the forefront of saving lives and building resilience - from delivering emergency relief to equipping communities with the tools to respond to disasters and rebuild the lives of newcomers with dignity and hope.
