1.Developer/Test Automation

Location: Calgary

Duration: 2 Years

Responsibilities will include:

o Work as a member of a project team to develop and support the various applications in the IAP Program.

o Implement the design of reusable software components based on the practices defined in the Rational Unified Process Analysis & Design Discipline.

o Lead the team in building and implementing test automation infrastructure to facilitate the regression testing and smoke testing.

o Development of project specific automated test scripts to execute and support testing (including functional, integration, system, user acceptance testing).

o Assist the Technical Lead with planning, monitoring and issue resolution as required.

Software development experience using .Net (VB.Net, Asp.Net, C#) and/or Java

 

2. Senior Project Managers (4 resources)

Location: Saskatchewan

Duration: 1 Year with

an option to extend for an additional two (2) one-year terms

SCOPE OF WORK REQUIREMENTS:

The successful resource(s) will be required to:

Provide senior project management services on multiple new and/or existing projects.

Ensure all assigned project work is completed within defined scope, schedule and budget, using current methodology, templates and processes.

Meet with individuals in partner ministries and other project stakeholders to understand requirements of the initiatives assigned.

Prepare detailed plans, schedules and estimates for the work to be completed on approved business cases/projects.

Provide status reporting to Project Services and project stakeholders and other communications as set out in each project.

Assist in the development of business cases which accurately reflect the benefits and costs associated with alternative solutions.

Identify possible alternative solutions based on requirements and various interfaces with partner ministries.

Prepare any necessary competition documents associated with the solution.

Utilize, understand and/or suggest improvements to the existing Project Services Office - Project Management Methodology.

RESOURCE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Proposed resources should possess the following:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a minimum of five (5) years IT Project Management experience in a government/public sector or large IT organization of which 3 years experience was gained after acquiring the PMP certification, or equivalent education, certifications and experience.

Experience in completing $250,000+ IT projects on-time, on budget, and within the established scope of work.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

a. Demonstrated ability to develop positive interactions with staff and managers at all levels of an organization

b. Ability to communicate complex and highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical people (written and oral)

Demonstrated experience in managing project change and project risks
2.0Experience in leading business and systems requirements gathering and analysis

Experience in stakeholder analysis and management techniques

Computer Science degree, or a business degree with a computer science major, or equivalent training and experience

Experience in preparing various competition documents such as RFP_s

Demonstrated program and/or portfolio management experience

 

3.

Business Analyst

Location: Calgary

Duration: 7 Months

Responsibilities will include:

Eliciting, gathering and documenting business requirements

·

Facilitating business process and requirements gathering workshops

·

Documenting and presenting business process gaps

·

Documenting current and future business processes

·

Assist in identifying and mitigating risks

·

Assisting in the generation of required presentation material

·

Participating in the planning and execution of testing activities

 

4. Senior Application Developer

Location: Calgary

Duration: 2 Years

Responsibilities will include:

·

Must have at least 5 years experience with Visual Studio - Visual Basic, Visual InterDev, Active Reports, ASP and ADO.

·

Must have at least 5 years experience with SQL2000 and SQL2005.

·

Must have experience with Visual Basic.NET, and ASP.NET.

·

Must have experience in current software development techniques (Object Oriented, Database, and Software as a service techniques).

·

Must have experience as an intermediate or a senior developer for Windows software client and n-tier applications on mid to large software development projects.

·

Must have experience using iterative software development life cycle methodologies (ex) RUP.

·

Must have excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with business users, team members and senior IT staff.

·

Must be self-motivated and focused on results.

·

Must be a team player.

 

5. Oracle Developer

Location: Victoria, BC

Duration: 8 Months

The proponent will:

Apply the business and technical specifications to implement the specified changes to the Client system functionality

Responsible for ensuring the quality of the development work, including use of Pension Corporation mechanisms to track time and address requests for changes and outstanding items.

Responsible for providing status reports to the (IIAM) Oracle Team Lead describing work that has been completed within the reporting window and issues that require resolution by the Business Manager.

Responsible for the delivery of all assigned tasks, ensuring all applicable standards are met.

Mandatory (Proven) Skills and Experience:

Senior resource with a minimum of 5 years proven Oracle development experience relating to Oracle SQL, Forms and Reports.

Proven skill in developing and producing quality code and documentation.

Conduct unit tests prior to transferring the code to the test team for verification and acceptance

 

6. Lotus Notes Administration (1 part-time resource)

Location: Edmonton, AB

Duration: 12 Months

The key role is to provide on call support to the ministry via VPN access and onsite support as required for the Lotus Notes 6.5/Domino 7.0x and possibly Domino 8.0x environments. The resource will provide management of user ids and groups, monitor support for replication activity, SMTP mail support for mail enabled applications and minor application support. Support of 20 - 40 hours per month is expected, with the individual available on site within 2 hours of request.

This role also supports a shared environment hosted by IIR and delivered to IIR as well as Employment and Immigration, Culture and Community Spirit, _Tourism, Parks and Recreation and Finance and Enterprise Ministries. This requires the ability to troubleshoot Lotus Notes desktop issues remotely in order to determine if the problem is desktop, firewall, network connectivity or security related.

NOTE: Some stand-by support for evenings and weekends is expected.

 

7. Senior Server/CITRIX Resource

Location: Edmonton, AB

Duration: 12 Months

The primary function or role is to technically support Citrix servers, this resource may be required to effectively interface with or assist ministry development teams and other IT service groups with Infrastructure planning, upgrades and delivery. Ministry application teams will support corporate applications or services that run on these servers but Client is responsible to ensure that the Windows Operating System and all services run smoothly on these Intel servers. It is essential to provide near perfect service availability during summer Fire season.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proven ability to achieve project deliverables are required. The ability to interface and coordinate with other team leads in a large and complex environment is critical to overall team success. The prospective candidate requires specialized knowledge/understanding of CITRIX and their associated modules and significant experience with Network Servers. Rotational after hours on call support with evening and weekend work is expected during Fire Season (i.e. typically from mid April-October).
