Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with systems
administration in a large Windows 2003 network environment hosting web-based
application programs and Oracle databases. Candidate will also be expected
to assist with the migration of part of this environment to a remotely
hosted UNIX Solaris environment. After the migration, the candidate will
then assist with Windows and UNIX Systems Administration tasks. The
candidate will assist in ensuring that all systems meet DoD IT requirements
and that the Operating Systems are DITSCAP/DIACAP certified.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Setting up administrator and service accounts.
Maintaining system documentation.
Tuning system performance.
Allocating mass storage space.
Maintaining system software, patches and configuration in compliance with
vendor recommendation and DoD requirements.
Supporting multiple Oracle database and application environment services.
Evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware
and software.
Coordinating and installing system wide software.
Effectively interacting with a variety of users.
Required Qualifications:

BS in an IT field and 3+ years of relevant experience, including significant
system administration/network experience. An equivalent combination of
education and experience may be considered.
Experience in Windows 2003 and UNIX Systems Administration (Solaris 10
preferred).
Familiarity with Active Directory GPOs.
Knowledge of Windows network accepted best practices.
Experience performing system back-up and restore, as well as day-to-day
maintenance and monitoring in both a Windows and a Unix environment.
Experience performing UNIX system upgrades, installing patches, and
developing system and database back-up strategies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to assist in the creation of
documentation of the IT network.
Strong interpersonal and teaming skills to facilitate working with multiple
internal and external organizations.
Ability to provide occasional support services outside normal business hours
(e.g., night shifts, weekends, and holidays).
U.S. Citizenship is required. In addition, selected applicants will be
subject to a government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified information and obtain a Government-granted
Security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:

MCSA, MCSE, and/or UNIX Certifications.
Experience with disaster recovery operations.
Experience with Citrix Presentation Server & VMWare.
Experience with installation of Web-based applications as well as Client
based applications.
Ability to review undocumented file system logs, assess needed clean-up and
maintenance, and develop script and processes to perform system maintenance.
Experience supporting multiple Oracle database (especially Oracle 10g) and
application environment services.
Experience in a Government or Government Contracting environment and
particularly with the procurement process.
Experience working with a data center such as DISA and coordinating with
data center SA personnel.
Experience with and knowledge of government regulations: STIG, TSAAP, and
DITSCAP, DIACAP regulations.
Experience using Sun Server hardware.
Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) technology.
