Subject: Re: AGM Recap/Next Year
email is dangerous stuff - the tone of the last couple will lead some to believe we are reorganizing things that are decided. We are not. Pacific conference teams are not even on this mail out and I am sure BC is a "Nation".
Organize your East Conference (which I look on jealously) and prepare your teams for the Cross over - Where the Western Teams will show up with every intent to take 4 of the 6 spots for the National Finals.
Lets talk about different stuff-- fun stuff like which conference is strongest and how to celebrate the 100th anniversary!!
On a different note- I propose we retire the 100 year trophy after this season - a Hall of fame museum placement would be best .
Then get a beautiful new one with all the past winners engraved - To improve the history of the second century I think we should - starting 2008- put the winning team and their roster names on the trophy . As well as mention sliver and bronze. If we had that from the last 100 years it would be incredible !!
We also need to generate interest in the League Nationally even if just amongst ourselves.
To do this we should have National Rankings possibly each month . It would be best handled by the National Team staff - They are in the know of who is playing well and where etc...
I'll presumptuously start off a preseason ranking -. I reserve the right to change my rankings whenever I think I might be wrong. Rosters would help. Hope it starts some discussion
1. Pacific Storm - are back the young ones will get them to finals and then the additions of Thomas Marks and Dan Stein will be too much
2. Ottawa Titans - with Kevin Mitchel without they'll drop to 6th.
3. Regina Squids - If they get out of the West playing without their Big three
4. DDO - Nathaniel I am sure will again guarantee Championship
5. Calgary Torpedo's - Will Vlad's Team make the Spanish playoffs
6. Dynamo - Phillippe holding back, worried if they win we'll make a rule banning his foreigners
7. CAMO - This is an outrageous ranking Final 4 at least 14 of the last 15 years!! medals in 13
8. Hamilton Aquatic Club - Could be my biggest error I picked them last year to win it all
9. Hull - to young to call
10. Ste Foy Hydras - can beat anybody up to top 4
11. Cote Des Niege - a fit Israel? moves them up 3 spots
12 Alberta Selects - can they play together - some fun Edmonton talent combined with U of C!!
13. Toronto - without Duke they'll either play a complete team game or ...?
14. Calgary Masters - Will Bourne suit up lead by have some solid young old guys 30 somethings
15. Seattle - is this the Otters or Washington Water Polo Club - I'm betting Otters - Washington Club has a great Youth Boys program beat two Canada Youth Medallists numerous times each last year
16 Lower Fraser Valley - too new - will they be lead by Kevin Mitchell - move up if so
17 Calgary Youngsters - happy to be involved
Hope this creates some pool deck discussion
John
1. Regina - best fitness in the League
2. CAMO - team with the best experience in the League
3. Dynamo - will try to take the trophy before it's in museum
4. Storm - too yang, but still best swimmers
5. Ottawa - I like the team, but nothing will work without Kevin
Mitchell
6. DDO - Nathaniel is a big factor
7. Hull - Serbians should help?
8. Seattle - Washington Water Polo Club indeed
9. Hamilton - can break the wall with their forehead, but what if
wall is too wide?
10. Calgary - should make it, but higher - I doubt, maybe a couple
steps in best
11-17. ... Can't tell anything from this point, but should I?

What I can tell (maybe Ben will disagree or he’s preparing brand new
deadly tactics ) is we're very experienced team, so we can play all
kinds of tactics :)
Normally in offence we try to put the ball to the whole and shoot from
outside if they play zone. Sometimes we even counterattack :)
In defense all depends on other team's whole set. If he's big, we'll
try to front him and slough from couple players if guard loosing the
position. Or if we still can move :) drop from the top player and 2
will swim between 3 top offensive players looking for counterattack.
Ben, this question is for you :)

year is 100 years of Canadian WP trophy, this year it goes into museum, let's

I have at least one very fit, fast, strong,16 year old from Bushido who
might like to help Dynamo. He is 6'4" and shoots the ball very well and
likes to play against men and Juniors. He can help with counter defense
and will score if teams drop off him because of his age. You know me, I
wouldn't suggest him if he wasn't ready to contribute. Let me know if
you want to add him and I will connect you to the family who writes the
cheques.

I have confirmation that my 16 year old man-child, Mitchell Horton, is
ready to go with the Dynamo seniors. He learns very fast and wants to
play at as high a level as possible so Dynamo is the perfect place.
Next year maybe a few more Bushido boys will be big enough and fast
enough too.
Let me know how many events you want him for, the dates and the
locations. I'm not sure how much money the family wants to spend but
they have agreed to let him play so give me some numbers.
