Dear Sir,

 

It is good to hear that a central repository of KYC document is being created to help avoid submitting documents repeatedly. This was a much awaited long overdue reform. However, the newspaper reports say that a 14 digit number will be generated on submission of KYC documents by the respective agency after 14 July 2016.

 

However, we wish to bring to your knowledge that this new additional long identification number will increase the data maintenance efforts of individual. A common man of our country is over burdened with the long list of numbers one has to maintain. Driving Lisence No. Passport No., PAN, Tax Identification No. Director Identification No., Election I Card No., Aadhaar, Employee ID, Debit card No. and its PIN, Credit card No. and its PIN, Bank Account No., Gas connection No., Electricity Customer Account No., so many passwords and so on………….. with latest addition in the list this proposed 14 digit number.

 

When Aadhaar is there, possibility must be explored to avoid this new creation. As a society we should head towards reducing the burden of maintaining this long list of numbers by individual. Even if a new number is to be generated it can be a combination of Aadhaar and/or PAN to avoid altogether creation of a new number.

 

It is opined that Aadhar must be used as identification number for this purpose and as far as possible generation of yet new number be avoided.

Having issued 103,39,96,778 Aadhar Cards (96.7 %Adults have this card). This is INCREDIBLE achievement..

Its for the Govt to make the AADHAR as KEY ID & get away with other No's.

The so called KYC norms should be applicable & Link to PROPERTY and all HIGH Level Transactions. 

Linking Aadhar to PAN, IT, Driving Licence or Vehicle No etc should be very user friendly, simple and ERROR less.

The PAN Number and AADHAR Link found very extensive and found most of the time the data mismatch it is not accepted.

Similarly Govt should direct all authority that all Property Tax, Driving Licence, Vehicle RC, Passport, VAT, STax, Employee ID of all Govt & PSU etc linked to Aadhar.

The real problem is a pending case in supreme court.So far supreme court has clarified that adhar card in not mandatory and can be valid only to avail subsidy.

Our friends from legal fraternity may trow more light on that.
