Sir,

India is a big country having several large wealthy temples. Most of these temples have managing committees with a Government nominee. These committees manage temples and God’s wealth. Often such big trusts also undertake social utility projects like health services, schools, marriages of poor girls, food distribution etc.  At present, the working sphere of such trusts s generally the area nearby the shrine. It is felt that this operational field has scope for expansion to further improve the efficiency of using God’s wealth for the welfare of devotees. It is suggested that one Maha-Nyay may initially be formed consisting of one member each from all the 4 Dhams & 11 Jtorilingas.

This formation may unlock a big potential the way God’s wealth is being used at present. The scope of social activities may be expanded to the whole of the country for improving facilities for devotees and other socially important projects beyond the local area jurisdiction of the respective temple. This Maha-Nyas can be a big economic power working for the welfare of society as a whole and channelizing wealth in a more productive way. This may bring uniformity in the maintenance standards of shrines. Besides other facilities for devotees, it can also operate schemes for subsidized travel for the needy poor and thus enabling the left-out strata of society to visit the holy places.

This Maha-Nyas may also function in coordination with the Government for improving religious tourism corridors throughout the country.

For consideration, please.

Regards,
