Dear All,
Heavy rains and floods are affecting many parts of India. Families have lost their homes and are struggling to meet even basic needs. Goonj teams are already on the ground, working with local partners—but the need is overwhelming and growing. This is your chance to turn compassion into action.

Goonj brief Overview:
Goonj uses under-utilized urban material for the rural development. E.g. Rural & Tribal people are motivated to solve their problems e.g. making the road, bridges, ponds cleaning, repairing of school building etc, In the return, they are rewarded with urban material.
Following is the summary of Goonj initiatives:
• Cloth for work: The flagship initiative of Goonj, bridges the gap between the lack of infrastructure and the basic materials in the far-flung areas of rural India. CFW is about people becoming the decision-makers of their own problems.
• School to school: Builds a relationship of empathy and dignity between urban and rural children, on two opposite sides of a big divide of resources and opportunities. Urban children learn to value their abundant resources as they become more aware about rural India.
• Rahat: An initiative evolved into an active, reliable and time - tested network of stakeholders in both rural & urban India ensuring our timely response for generating need - based disaster relief & rehabilitation efforts
• Not just a piece of cloth(NJPC): An initiative that aims to break the culture of shame and silence around menstruation for women in rural India. NJPC addresses menstrual hygiene challenges with a 4A approach: Access - Awareness - Affordability - Action
• Green by Goonj: A 'product label', created from the surplus of the world, from the ingenuity and design aesthetics of women in our processing centres. It reverses the conventional cycle of 'rural India making for urban India', & recycle & repurpose this material to make products for rural India
