Dear Drumbeaters SD,
Thanks for following EAT as the project progresses. I'll give you a full update in May's newsletter coming next week but I need to get this time sensitive info out right away.
In order to fund EAT, or at least pay for gas, I've taken work from CitySquares.com making one minute videos for their internet directory. They aspire to be bigger than yelp or the yellow pages, so they are seeding their listings with a FREE limited-time offer for San Diego businesses of a free listing along with a free video for that listing. I'm their videographer locally, or one of them
This is a good deal, free not often is free, but this looks kosher to me. The business has complete control whether the listing and video will remain on the site or not and the web presence is free and permanent unless the client wants a change.
Here's the promo I created for eat:

I've done this sort of work for websites before, it's like piecework at a garment factory, not too exciting or lucrative for the sock darner but still an excellent pair of socks in the end. The upside for me is I'll be getting around the City, meeting folk I would not have. This will give me a chance to chat up about what EAT is doing in town.
So, the help I could use from you all is, if you have a business, drop me a line or call me ASAP to register. If you have a friend who wants free publicity, slip 'em the info, if you would.
All kinds of good positive things have happened for EAT. We have been able to help individuals and I hope the community in a quiet way, and I'm committed to continue the work. This directory program will help both the business community and me.
I hope that you will help me spread this program.
Give me a call or write me soon.
Hopin' you all are having fun, and eatin' good food,
Drew
