We have an opportunity to improve the City and our neighborhoods coming up next Tuesday, 6/7/11.

The SD City Council meets then and will consider Item #311 at 2:00 PM.

Item #311 is a group of revisions to city code that will ease restrictions and fees on the establishment and running of Community Gardens.

Wouldn't it be nice if that vacant lot on your street was a garden?

Right now the regs include  alot of restrictive and unnecessary impediments and high costs to establishing and running gardens in your neighborhood.

There is just no reason not to beautify the neighborhoods while producing healthy food and encouraging healthy activity.

It seems like the new regulations will pass but let's help the process a bit.

Please help by calling your council-member and asking for support of the updated, improved regulations.

Here's a link to a page detailing the issues and offering contact information: http://eatgoodfood.posterous.com/plant-your-feet-an-support-san-diego-communit

One phone call will help! You'll get to feel the satisfaction of participation and share the success of positive change.

Any questions? Let me know!

Thanks,

Drew Reiff
