Hi All

See below for a free 10 week in-depth 3D printing course, run by a company in Leigh. Mali from FACT Studio Lab did it a while ago and she said that it's really good. Follow the link at the bottom to find out more.

Note: if you're after a shorter, but still comprehensive introduction, Andy Green (3D Primo) runs an afternoon course here on the first Saturday of each month.  Click here for more details.

Please pass these details on to anyone you think might be interested.

Thanks

Hi Jackie,

Hope you’re well.

Just wanted to share the good news that we were successful in winning the contract to be able to deliver our Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Skills Bootcamps in Liverpool City Region again this year, and to see if DoES or any of your eligible members are potentially interested in taking advantage of the funded by gov training by putting any staff through the programme.

It’s 90% funded for SMEs so the cost would be £360 + VAT per delegate), and 100% fully funded for self-employed so no cost whatsoever.

For those employed at DoES, and for charities, CICs and youth groups & education with under 250 employees, we would be happy to fund the 10% payment under our social value activities so would come at no cost to those groups.

The programme is 10 x 6 hour days (x6 remote via Teams, and x4 face to face practical learning) and delivers a Level 3 cert and all learners completing the course get a free 3D Printer that they build and learn how to operate and maintain during the training programme.

Learners will also gain a decent foundation in 3D CAD, Cyber Security & Big Data, VR/AR, The Internet of Things & Industrial Internet of Things (IoT & IIoT), Robotics and Automation and of course Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) both theory and practical, all of which offer the potential to improve competitiveness and bring efficiencies and cost-savings to their businesses.

The course includes the full tutor-led 60-hour programme, a level 3 certificate/qualification, and the free 3D printer for the employer or each delegate competing the programme.

Learners would need to be 19 or older on 31/08/25 to be eligible for the programme.

At the current time, the programme is only open to employed and existing self-employed learners as per the T&C of the contract.

I’ve attached a flier for reference and you can find more details at the website below;.

If there’s any interest  from DoES or its members, then please ask each potential learner to complete the short expression of interest form at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/3D360EnquiryFormW6

It’s a great opportunity for employers and self-employed in the region so please feel free to circulate through your networks even if it’s not right for DoES at the current time.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

I was wondering how this latest request fitted in with previous phone calls.

We have 3 3D printers in action at the moment and are considering getting more in the future. People come in to DoES to use them for their own businesses, either to create products, parts (inc. for art works), or to prototype stuff. There are many people in the DoES Liverpool community who are self employed, or employed elsewhere, who could benefit be increasing their 3D printing skills, especially in terms of CAD.

Kind regards

Jackie

Thanks Jackie, much appreciated.

Not sure if Dan/Ian gave you the wrong message when you spoke so just for clarification, the Skills Bootcamps programme/funding is for people / employers who are using the skills for business so would be difficult to get volunteers on it, unless they are coming on the programme through their employer, as self-employed or are employed by DOES.

Hi Paul

"The boot camp will help our volunteers to further develop skills they can use in maintaining and supporting our equipment, ensuring it’s always ready for use. It will also allow users to work on their own projects more effectively and to offer more hands-on guidance to local makers, students, and hobbyists."

Please change anything you need to, and get back to me.

Thanks

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Hope you’re well.

Just following up on the Skills Bootcamps discussion with my colleague Dan.

We are on track to be able to get the programme funding but I just need a couple of lines from you for the additional supporting information for the EoI on how you plan to use the skills from the training so if you could email it over to me then that would be great.

Thanks in advance.
